Gareth Sheridan holds dual citizenship of Ireland and the United States of America since 2022. Precedents exist for Ireland-USA Dual Citizenship holders contesting and holding the Office of President of Ireland (e.g., Eamon De Valera, and candidates in the 2011 and 2018 Presidential Elections). There is no constitutional or legal impediment for an Irish citizen holding dual citizenship with the USA to be nominated for a Presidential election.
"Successive Irish Governments have canvassed for an end to undocumented Irish citizens living and working in the USA. I got my green card in 2017 and citizenship in 2022. I was born in Ireland and I am Irish and proud of it."
The situation in Gaza is distressing and outrageous. An immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and unhindered access for humanitarian aid through recognized international channels (such as the UN) are needed, as repeatedly requested by the Irish Government. Ultimately, peace in Gaza and the wider region requires an agreed and stable two-State solution. President Michael D. Higgins is commended for his courage and leadership on this issue. The Occupied Territories Bill
This issue is particularly important to him as someone who had to emigrate. It needs to be explored and advanced in a considered way, going beyond symbolic gestures. Other aspects to consider include the voting age and the term of the Presidency. The priority is to engage younger generations (20s, 30s, and 40s) who feel disconnected from the electoral and political system, and encourage them to vote in the upcoming election.
The issue goes beyond just housing; it impacts life choices, opportunities, freedom, privacy, and the sanctuary of one's own home. Housing is central to society's fabric, and its problems cascade into other issues like enforced emigration, a lost generation, challenges in recruiting and retaining staff, and maintaining the social fabric of rural communities. The President can have significant influence and moral authority to lead the national conversation, values, and and vision for the next generation.
In 14 years, he has never heard anyone suggest that President Michael D. Higgins should not take his wages. This suggestion is demeaning to the role and status of the office and, if it's the only platform offered, is "lame." This is a serious and earnest endeavor that requires respect, and a "throwaway comment" about not needing the money is an insult to the electorate.
"We'll soon see!" He questions if "seasoned" merely refers to "the same old, same old political rhetoric and left/right divide," stating that is not him. He is not from the political establishment and believes a genuinely independent and apolitical president should not be.
"The only thing in the closet is a couple of new shirts, jeans and shoes for the 10 weeks campaign ahead — all chosen by my wife Heidi let me add!!"
No.
This is a complex issue. Ireland currently appears divided on many issues. While a united Ireland is desired, rushing it won't make it happen sooner. Recent examples of community divisions in both the North and Dublin demonstrate that a united Ireland, with united communities and families, requires more work than just brandishing the tri-colour. Nothing works when forced upon people. "An Ireland united would be a good starting place for a United Ireland."
"Absolutely nothing wrong with them. They are both formidable women and politicians. Anyone who puts their name on the ballot paper deserves to be treated with respect." However, unlike them, he is not from the political establishment, is truly independent, and is not beholden to any political party or ideology, which he believes is the type of Presidency Ireland needs for the future.
It does fluctuate but roughly €16 million in Nutriband shares and €500,000 in savings.
Yes, his family residence in Utah and one additional property that they rent for $2,700 which is in line with the local rental market. He currently rents a 2 bedroom apartment in Dublin for €3,000 a month where he currently resides with his wife Heidi and daughter Roe.
The 2020 transaction was connected with two doctors who happened to work at the hospital. They had developed a device that liquefied tablets for people that couldn’t swallow or were incapacitated. The device would do very well in terms of treating people on the spot. We felt such an innovation would be impactful on the world and took a gamble on it. The technology itself needed far more development than we initially thought and the deal was shelved shortly after being signed. We no longer have any relationship with any Israeli hospital.
Yes, and I have previously discussed this at length both in my book and in an episode of The Entrepreneur Experiment that was recorded in February of this year and also in an interview with Hot Press. The SEC's investigation found that Nutriband’s transdermal patches consist of a drug and a delivery device, and such drug-device combination products would require FDA approval. This was in contradiction to the legal advice that we had received from our FDA lawyers. It was a mistake and we now seek the opinion of four FDA lawyers as opposed to three like we did in the past. We continue to have a strong relationship with the SEC and work with them on a regular basis.
Resilience is required in Politics and certainly resilience is learned in any business start-up.
Nutriband’s main role is developing transdermal patches for chronic pain treatments. We have a focused team of 8 full-time employees working to that goal. We do however, contract part-time employees when required.
It started at 1pm GMT on August 11th 2025.
Three questions: firstly, Yes; secondly, No; and thirdly, not applicable until the Election result is announced.
Because I am committed to running for the role of President of Ireland and I am ultra confident the company is in great shape and is well managed.
First question, No. Second question, I would be replaced.
Yes, I am very confident of this. However, I don’t know anyone who isn’t affected by the scenes we witness in Gaza and Ukraine.
After 7 years in the states and decades out of the education system my Irish has regressed. However, I started lessons back in April and I am very much enjoying reengaging with the language. My teacher is a native speaker from Connemara Macdara Ó Béarra. I aim to continue lessons until I am comfortable with my fluency
In answer to questions raised about Serguei Melnik, Co-Founder and Chair of Nutriband Inc about the following; Civil Aviation Group, UNR Holdings and Asconi Corporation, please note that it was Mr. Melnik himself who disclosed these matters relating to the above three entities in his voluntary filings to the Securities and Exchange Commission, the SEC, in advance of Nutriband’s listing on the Nasdaq. The Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, is the United States of America’s Federal Corporate Governance Regulator of Capital Markets with the primary responsibility of protecting all investors.
In 2021 as Nutriband was continuing preparations for its application to be considered for a Nasdaq flotation, the company’s advisors and larger shareholders strongly recommended that the post of Chairman should be filled by someone with US Capital Markets experience. The Board proposed Serguei Melnek, a proven veteran of capital markets and treasury, to be appointed Chairman at the next shareholder meeting to be held in January of 2022. However, the then Chair, Sean Gallagher had served the company very well in its start-up phase. The proposed compromise was that Sean Gallagher would voluntarily vacate the role of Chairman and in appreciation of his service up to that time, Sean would remain as Director (Board Member) and on the same remuneration package he received as Chairman. Communication broke down at this point while Serguei Melnik was proposed to take over as Chairman at the annual shareholder meeting and voted in by a strong majority vote of Nutriband’s shareholders in January of 2022. In 2021 and its lead up, Serguei Melnek managed all the investor relations that resulted in a very successful flotation for Nutriband Inc. Sean Gallagher submitted a resignation in January of 2022 shortly before the shareholder meeting. The Board was surprised one such matter raised in his resignation letter was the Orlando Magic lease. In 2020 The board had approved an investment of $180,000 by Nutriband for a Corporate Box at the Amway Arena Stadium for a renewable one year period. As a start-up Nutriband “bootstrapped” its initial growth. The company was always and still is prudent about how it spends money and is constantly vigilant about its bottom line. In pitching to investors and maintaining good relations with existing shareholders, our investment in and our association with, Orlando Magic, made a great return. Orlando Magic was a good fit as it is the NBA’s most prominent team in the fight against the misuse of opioids. Nutriband still retains its Corporate Box at Orlando Magic and, with unanimous board approval and support from shareholders, extended the contract. The good will the company enjoys making its Corporate Box available to local communities and sports clubs has helped Nutriband establish itself as a good neighbour in Orlando and further plays a significant role in Nutriband’s CSR outreaches. On the island of Ireland there is an established practice of companies using Corporate Boxes and Premium tickets at Croke Park, The Aviva Stadium, Super Valu Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Thomand Park, Kingspan Stadium etc. as part of their marketing too.
I am as shocked and surprised as anyone else with the planning process issues that you have raised. Your queries are the first I have heard of them. I was so taken aback, I naturally had to check with my mother. It is true that she signed the planning observation as you have indicated and that she is listed as one of the Directors of Number Four Red Ltd. She fully accepts that she signed this observation, but did so in good faith and at the behest of her employer, Mr. Tim Gunning. Mr. Gunning is a property developer. My mother is not. She has worked for Mr. Gunning’s companies for over 20 years in the capacity of Accounts Manager and Admin. My mother is now distressed and distraught when I told her today of the implications being drawn from the submissions she signed at the direction of her employer. Although, when contacted, Mr. Gunning insists that there was nothing improper or untoward in his company’s actions, he readily confirms that he directed my mother to sign the submission. There are no conflicts of interests arising here on the part of myself, my mother, or my family relating to the property sector or property development. Rather than deter me from making housing one of the key elements of my campaign, this merely underscores the dire need to address this kind of practice and conduct within the areas of planning and property development, which serves to slow down the provision of housing and escalate costs. For the record, we are an ordinary working family and my mother grew up in social housing. We had a small newsagent’s business in Inchicore when we were growing up. My desire to tackle the housing issue has never been stronger.
I am firmly against any changes to the Triple Lock. I think there’s an overwhelming objection to the idea that we would move forward with that. And I want to stress that we’re militarily neutral, but we’ve never been morally neutral, and that’s important as well
I find the increase in racially motivated attacks both troubling and heartbreaking and my heart goes out to the communities affected. I want to stress that if that is something you support then I am definitely not your candidate.
